U.S. gasoline price rises across nation last week

WASHINGTON, April 15 (Xinhua) -- The price of regular gasoline kept rising in the United States last week, said a report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Monday.

For the week ending on Monday, the U.S. average regular gasoline retail price increased over 8 cents from last week to nearly 2.83 U.S. dollars per gallon. In the first week of 2019, gasoline price across the United States was 2.237 dollars per gallon.

For West Coast area, which includes the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii, gasoline price surged over 16 cents to nearly 3.58 dollars per gallon, according to the EIA.

For Rocky Mountain area, which includes the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Idaho, gasoline price rose over 10 cents to 2.64 dollars per gallon.

For Midwest area, which stands for the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, gasoline price remained almost unchanged, edging up nearly 7 cents to almost 2.74 dollars per gallon.

For the Gulf Coast area, which includes the states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and New Mexico, the gasoline price rose over 8 cents to nearly 2.54 dollars per gallon.

For the East Coast area, which includes all other states close to the Atlantic Ocean, the price increased nearly 7 cents to almost 2.72 dollars per gallon.
