KHARTOUM, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan on Wednesday issued a constitutional decree demanding government institutions to immediately disclose their foreign currency and bank accounts inside and outside Sudan.

The decree demanded all the government ministries, authorities, institutions, companies, entities and all trends in which the government of Sudan has shares to submit the necessary statements on bank accounts, deposits, securities, cash funds or any precious metals or jewelry inside and outside Sudan, the military council said in a statement.

The decree stipulated to submit all these statements and data to the Central Bank of Sudan within 72 hours, noting that the violators would be subject to imprisonment for a maximum period of ten years or a fine or both.

Earlier on Wednesday, Al-Burhan issued a decision ordering the Central Bank of Sudan to freeze any suspicious funds and review funds movement as of April 1, 2019.

Sudan's Transitional Military Council is tasked with running the country's affairs following the ouster of President Omar al-Bashir's regime.
