Albanian president meets with delegation of China's political advisors

TIRANA, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Albanian President Ilir Meta has met with a delegation of Chinese political advisors here in the country's capital.

The delegation was led by Zhang Qingli, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

During the meeting on Tuesday, Zhang conveyed to Meta the cordial greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Zhang said this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Albania. He sincerely hoped that the traditional friendship between the two countries will last forever.

China cherishes the political mutual trust with Albania and is willing to work with the Albanian side to continue implementing the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and take the opportunity of jointly building the Belt and Road to push for more achievements in China-Albanian friendly cooperation, said the vice chairman.

Meta spoke highly of the friendly relations between the two countries and extended his congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

He thanked China for its valuable support to Albania, and expressed the wish to further strengthen high-level exchanges between the two countries, deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and inject new impetus into the relations between Central and Eastern European Countries and China.

Zhang also met with Deputy Speaker of Albanian Parliament Vasilika Hysi and members of the Albania-China Parliamentary Group of Friendship.
