JAKARTA, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's presidential and legislative polls on Wednesday has been well responded by investors as the unofficial results heralded persistence of business-friendly environment in the Southeast Asia's biggest economy.

Quick counts surveys by 12 pollsters with nearly 100 percent of total votes counted on Thursday pointed to victory of incumbent President Joko Widodo, who has promised to boost economic stability and a business-friendly environment.

Widodo defeated his rival former general Prabowo Subianto who has promised to approach more protectionism during his campaign.

Meanwhile, as a whole, Wednesday's presidential and parliamentarian polls in the vast archipelagic nation ran with no significant disturbance.

President Widodo is expected to continue focusing on infrastructure development and advance digital economy.

Index at the Indonesian bourse on Thursday spiked to 6,611.48 from 6,428 at the opening on Wednesday.

Rupiah appreciated against the greenback, fetching 14,016 per one U.S. dollar Thursday, edging up from 14,066 on Wednesday, according to data from Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar (Jisdor).

"Market reaction now shows investors having no doubt over possible risks in Indonesia. They see there will be a possibility of capital inflows into the country," Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Thursday.

During his nearly five-year term, President Widodo has relaxed and amended many regulations which hemmed in business.

The support secured by Widodo stayed afloat, touching average of 54.5 percent in the 12 surveys, while Prabowo got 45.5 percent, according to the president.

"As we know that the quick count survey is conducted scientifically. Based on experience in the past the results were accurate and nearly similar with that resulted by the real count," Widodo said.

Prabowo rejected the unofficial results released by the five pollsters and claimed himself the winner with 62 percent votes based on internal polling results of his camp.

The five pollsters conducted similar surveys during the late presidential polls in 2014 with valid results.

Official result for the election is scheduled to be announced on May 22.
