LUSAKA, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian police on Tuesday unveiled a plan which lays out a comprehensive framework to enhance service delivery.

The Zambia Police Service 2019-2021 Strategic Plan focuses on creating "a faster, secure and peaceful environment for the social and economic development of the country" by delivering a smart and value-centered police service, said Stephen Kampyongo, minister of home affairs.

He added that the plan will enable the police service to make strategic decisions to combat crime and promote human rights in collaboration with stakeholders.

The plan is anchored on the core values of integrity, accountability, impartiality, transparency, human dignity, team work, confidentiality and patriotism, said Kakoma Kanganja, inspector general of the Zambia Police Service.

The plan was developed with both internal and external stakeholders involved, he added.
