DPRK's Kim arrives in Russia for talks with Putin

MOSCOW, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un has arrived in Russia's Far Eastern Primorsky Territory on Wednesday, the territory administration said in a press release on its website.

Kim's armored train stopped at the Khasan railway station of the territory at 10:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) and he was received by the territory's governor Oleg Kozhemyako, Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexander Kozlov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, and Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Alexander Matsegora.

"I am glad to be on Russian soil," said Kim, according to the press release. Kim said that this will not be his last trip to Russia.

RIA Novosti news agency reported that Kim's train is expected to arrive in the city of Vladivostok at about 11 a.m. Moscow time (0800 GMT) Wednesday for his first meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.
