TOKYO, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Thursday as investor sentiment was bolstered by a comparatively weak yen against the U.S. dollar which helped lift exporter issues, while other issues drew buying on bargain hunting.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 107.58 points, or 0.48 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 22,307.58.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 8.23 points, or 0.51 percent, to finish at 1,620.28.

Land transport, real estate and miscellaneous product-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
