Belarus' foreign debt down 1.7 pct in Q1

MINSK, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' foreign debt decreased by 1.7 percent to 16.6 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2019, the country's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

In January-March, Belarus attracted external loan of 187.2 million dollars. In the same period, the Eastern European country spent 539.1 million dollars to repay foreign debt.

As of April 1, its domestic public debt amounted to 8.7 billion Belarusian rubles (4 billion dollars), decreasing by 1.6 percent from the beginning of the year.
