SEOUL, May 2 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's consumer price rose 0.6 percent in April from a year earlier, staying below 1 percent for the fourth consecutive month, a government report showed Thursday.
The consumer price index (CPI) stood at 104.87 in April, up 0.6 percent from the same month of last year, according to Statistics Korea.
The consumer price inflation hovered below 1 percent for four months since January.
Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products gained 0.7 percent in April from a year ago, but industrial goods price slipped 0.1 percent on lower oil product cost.
The oil product price tumbled 5.5 percent last month, pulling down the overall headline inflation by 0.24 percentage points.
Services price rose 0.9 percent in April from a year earlier, falling below 1 percent for the first time since December 1999.
