SARAJEVO, May 5 (Xinhua) -- An Eurowings plane with 150 passengers landed at Mostar Airport on Sunday, marking the first direct flight between the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the city of Dusseldorf in Germany, the official website of Mostar airport said.

At the ceremony held at the airport located 135 km southwest of the BiH capital Sarajevo, director of airport Marin Raspudic highlighted the importance of the connection with Germany, not only for the city of Mostar, but for the whole country and the region.

Raspudic added that he expected 80,000 passengers this year, which is maximum that the airport can handle.

Apart from Eurowings' flights to Germany, the airport in Mostar is connected with Croatia's capital Zagreb.
