HARARE, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa assured Zimbabweans Thursday that his government is working hard to resolve economic challenges facing the nation.

Addressing mourners at the National Heroes Acre for the burial of ruling ZANU-PF member Velaphi Misheck Ncube, the president acknowledged the hardships facing the people.

"I am aware of the economic challenges facing the nation such as fuel and foreign currency shortages but I assure the nation that my administration will resolve these issues without fail," Mnangagwa said.

He also appealed to businesses that have been wantonly hiking prices to exercise discipline and contribute to national building.

"Our business people at every level must be ethical in their conduct. The rebuilding of our economy is everyone's responsibility," he said.
