YEREVAN, May 18 (Xinhua) -- An Armenian court on Saturday ruled that the country's former president Robert Kocharyan should be released from pre-trial custody over charges of overthrowing the constitutional order, the official news agency Armenpress reported.
The ex-president, who ruled Armenia in 1998-2008, is accused of "overthrowing constitutional order" in the 2008 presidential elections, after which the opposition meeting protesting official results of elections was dispersed with 10 people killed and more than 200 injured.
Kocharyan was arrested in July last year and released later but arrested again in December under the same investigation.
The ex-president has denied the accusations.
