DHAKA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi government has redistributed the duties and responsibilities of several ministers and state ministers in two ministries and changed the portfolio of another state minister, a cabinet division notification said Sunday.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam has been made responsible for Local Government Division alone and state minister of the same ministry Swapan Bhattacharjee was tasked to look after the tasks of Rural Development and Cooperatives Division, the state-run news agency BSS reported.
It said Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar would look after the affairs of Posts and Telecommunication while state minister of the same ministry Zunaid Ahmed Palak would be responsible for Information and Communication Technology Division.
According to the the notification, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Murad Hasan has been given the charge of State Minister for Information.
The notification said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina redistributed the offices of ministers and state ministers as per Rules of Business, 1996.
