BLANTYRE, Malawi, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Malawi's electoral body on Saturday announced the result of parliamentary elections following tripartite elections held on May 21.

However, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) could not announce the presidential election result after the country's main opposition party Malawi Congress Party (MCP) was granted an injunction by a high court restraining the electoral body from releasing the presidential result until all complaints have been addressed.
