BANGKOK, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Thai members of parliament (MPs) on Sunday cast votes for two deputy House speakers, following Saturday's voting for the House speaker.

Suchart Tancharoen and Supachai Phosu were on Sunday voted deputy House speakers in a secret voting on the second day of a House meeting.

Veteran MP Suchart of Palang Pracharath (power of people's state) won only two votes more than his rival for the post of first deputy House speaker. Suchart, who used to assume the post of deputy House speaker over a decade ago, won 248 votes against 246 votes for Future Forward MP Yaowalak Wongprapharat.

Meanwhile, Bhumjaithai (proud Thais) MP Supachai was voted second deputy House speaker with 256 votes against 239 votes for Thai Liberal MP Prasong Buraphong.

On Saturday, former prime minister, Democrat MP Chuan Leekpai was voted House speaker.

All the three winners, namely Chuan, Suchart and Supachai, belong to the parties which are reportedly forming a coalition government with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as its head.
