Greek conservatives lead in European elections: exit poll

ATHENS, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Greece's main opposition conservative New Democracy (ND) party led in Sunday's European Parliament elections, garnering 32-36 percent of votes against 25-29 percent for the ruling Radical Left SYRIZA party, a joint exit poll released upon the end of voting on five local private television channels showed.

Greeks went to the polls on Sunday to choose their 21 representatives in the next European Parliament for the next five years, as well as those in regional authorities, municipalities and communities throughout the country.
