India invites BIMSTEC leaders for Modi's swearing-in

NEW DELHI, May 27 (Xinhua) -- The government of India has invited the leaders of the BIMSTEC (the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sector Technical and Economic Cooperation) member states for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi and his council of ministers on May 30, sources in external affairs ministry said on Monday.

"This is in line with Government's focus on its 'Neighbourhood First' policy," added the sources.

The BIMSTEC is comprised of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
