Cambodia's top legislator embarks on visit to Vietnam, Laos

PHNOM PENH, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's National Assembly President Samdech Heng Samrin left here on Tuesday for a five-day visit to Vietnam and Laos in a bid to further enhance ties and cooperation.

During his stay in Hanoi from Tuesday to Thursday, Samrin will hold a bilateral meeting with Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, and pay courtesy calls on General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, said a National Assembly's statement.

"A cooperation document between the two National Assemblies will be signed during the visit," the statement said.

On Thursday, Samrin will head to Laos for a bilateral meeting with Lao National Assembly President Pany Yathotou and a courtesy call on Lao President Bounnhang Vorachit, it said.

Samrin will return home on Saturday in the afternoon, said the statement.
