MOSCOW, June 1 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 people were wounded in a series of explosions and a consequent fire that occurred in a trinitrotoluene (TNT) production plant in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, the RIA Novosti news agency reported Saturday.
The victims received fragment wounds of mild to moderate severity, and they have been provided with medical assistance, the RIA Novosti said, citing a representative of the Nizhny Novgorod regional government.
The fire that erupted after the explosions covered an area of about 100 square meters, according to the RIA Novosti.
