SKOPJE, June 5 (Xinhua) -- A military exercise dubbed "Decisive Strike" kicked off on Wednesday at the military base in Krivolak in the east-central part of North Macedonia with the participation of around 2,500 soldiers from 6 countries, local media reported.
This is the largest military exercise held in North Macedonia to date. It lasts from June 5 to June 9.
North Macedonia's Defense Ministry said the exercise is organized and led by the country's Armed Forces and supported by the U.S. Armed Forces and four other North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries.
The exercise involves North Macedonia's ground forces, air force and special forces; the Pennsylvania National Guard (19th Special Forces Group and U.S. Air Force) of the U.S.; ground forces from Lithuania and Montenegro with artillery capabilities; and special forces from Bulgaria and Albania.
According to the Defense Ministry, the exercise aims to improve synchronization and coordination among the special forces of partner countries.
