Zambia, Croatia seal agreement on soccer cooperation

LUSAKA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Zambia and Croatia on Wednesday signed an agreement to help the two countries cooperate on matters of football development.

The agreement was signed by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga and his Croatian counterpart Davor Suker on the sidelines of the ongoing 69th FIFA Congress in France, according to a release.

The agreement will see a long-term partnership aimed at up-skilling Zambian football talent and enhancing football development at national and grass-root levels.

According to the statement, technical support from Croatia was expected to further enhance skills training to ensure competitive and professional football across the southern African nation.

It will also benefit youth development as well as enhance women football and Futsal.

The signing of the agreement follows a visit early this year of the Zambian soccer chief to Croatia.
