TIRANA, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Albania's official unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2019 was 12.1 percent, decreasing by 0.4 percent year-on-year, the report of the National Statistical Institute (INSTAT) showed on Monday.
According to INSTAT data, the official unemployment rate in this period, compared to the fourth quarter 2018, decreased by 0.2 percent.
The labor force participation rate in this period for the population aged from 15 to 64 is 69 percent.
Meanwhile, during the first quarter of 2019, the employment rate in Albania was 60.3 percent. The total number of employed people, according to the official data, increased by 1.4 percent year-on-year, whereas compared to the previous quarter, this indicator increased by 0.6 percent.
Moreover, the annual employment growth rate over this period was 3 percent in industry and 3.6 percent in the services sector, INSTAT report read.
