YANGON, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized narcotic drugs worth 459 million kyats (306,000 U.S. dollars) from two Bangladesh women in Rakhine state, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Wednesday.
The seizure was made on Tuesday in Maungdaw township near the border area of Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Two bags filled with 229,500 stimulant tablets were confiscated from a vessel crossing through Zeepin creek towards the bank of Bangladesh.
The two women were charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
