CAIRO, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Egypt condemned on Wednesday in strongest terms an attack launched by Yemen's Houthi militia against Abha airport in Saudi Arabia which left 26 people injured.

"The government of Egypt and people stand in solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in the face of all attempts to destabilize the kingdom," a statement of the country's foreign ministry said.

The attacks on civilian airports represent "a flagrant violation of international law and norms," it added.

It called on the international community to work on confronting all terrorist acts that affect the stability of the region.

Earlier in the day, the Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television cited a coalition statement as saying that a missile fired from Yemen hit the arrivals hall at Abha airport, about 200 km north of Yemen's border, injuring at least 26 people, including three women and two children.

The coalition accused Houthis of using Iranian-made weapon, which the Houthis denied by saying it was a long-range cruise missile.
