KIEV, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine intends to work out a new deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of the year in order to receive funds needed to maintain its economic growth, according to an official.

Deputy head of the Presidential Administration Oleksiy Honcharuk noted in an interview with NV.Business magazine that the country's economy has been growing steadily over the past three years, bolstered by stable inflation and an improved business environment.

Ukraine's existing 14-month Stand-by Arrangement (SBA) with the IMF was reached in December 2018, which approved an equivalent of about 4 billion U.S. dollars for Ukraine.

Ukraine has received the first tranche of some 1.4 billion dollars, and is counting on receiving the remaining 2.6 billion dollars in two tranches from the program by the end of this year.

According to Honcharuk, Ukraine would work to meet IMF requirements and gain the trust of other investors. The country is looking for a deal to cover the next three or four years.

An IMF mission visited Ukraine in May and left without revising the deal or allocating the next tranche. Reports say the mission would return to Kiev after parliamentary elections produce a new Ukrainian government.
