CHIANG RAI, Thailand, June 15 (Xinhua) -- 3D laser projection mapping was introduced to Wat Rong Khun, or known as White Temple, in Thailand's Chiang Rai province in a bid to create the "the first phenomenal immersive experience" for locals and tourists, organizers said.

On Friday night, a media pre-show was held at the White Temple, during which lights of different colors illuminated the temple against the night sky backdrop in melodies.

The light show, entitled "Wat Rong Khun Light Fest, Episode: Begins", will be staged here from November 22 until December 22 this year with tickets ranging from 400 baht to 1,150 baht(13 to 37 U.S. dollars).

The show is the first collaboration between Chalermchai Kositpipat, a famous Thai visual artist who designed the White Temple and Index Creative Village Public Company Limited, a specialized event organizer with years of experience in multimedia industry.

According to organizers, the show also brought together professional Thai artists including renowned writer and composer Sarawut Lertpanyanuch, dance director Nipon Wannamahin, and LightSource Co., Ltd, Thailand's leader n entertainment lighting industry.

"Under the 'The Illumination of White Temple' concept, we believe that this will not only attracting Thai people, but also international tourists to come and be part of this event since what we want to achieve from this collaboration is to strengthen the image and reputation of Thailand at the global level." Kreingkrai Kanjanapokin, founder and chief executive Officer, Index Creative Village PCL, as the Creative Director of Wat Rong Khun Light Fest, said before the pre-show.

Chalermchai Kositpipat said he wants to create something beautiful here in Thailand and the light show would actually be an art work for the world.

Organizers mentioned that the latest news and updates of the show would be post on facebook/Watrongkhunlightfest and Instagram: Watrongkhunlightfest.
