Cuba sends condolences over China's deadly earthquake

HAVANA, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Tuesday expressed condolences on behalf of the Cuban government to the victims of a 6.0-magnitude earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

"Profound condolences to the people and the government of the People's Republic of China for the loss of lives and damages caused by the earthquake in Sichuan Province," said Rodriguez in a message posted on his Twitter account.

The Cuban diplomat also expressed Havana's sorrow to the family of the victims and those injured during the tremor.

To date, the quake has left 13 people dead, nearly 200 others injured and more than 140,000 residents affected after it hit Changning County of Yibin City in Sichuan Province on Monday.
