NEW DELHI, June 20 (Xinhua) -- India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform Yoga along with thousands of people on Friday morning at Ranchi, the capital city of the eastern state of Jharkhand, state-run All India Radio reported Thursday.

The preparations are almost complete at the Prabhat Tara ground in Ranchi where the main event of "International Yoga day" will be held, it said.

The theme of this year's event is "Yoga for Heart."

The venue, covering an area of about 65,032.128 square meters, has been divided into 47 blocks, it said, adding that special attention has been also given on convenience of the participants and overall security.

The event will highlight the concerns related to the environment. "Khadi (a hand-woven natural fiber cloth) yoga mats" will be used in place of rubber mats to promote the eco-friendly material.

Modi will arrive at Ranchi on Thursday night and the program will start at 6:30 a.m. (local time), it added.

International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on June 21 since its inception in 2015.
