KHARTOUM, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Despite the deadlock in the horizon of political solution in Sudan, the Sudanese political arena is witnessing intensive internal and external efforts aiming at finding a comprehensive political settlement to end the current political crisis in the country.

South Sudan has joined the efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis through an initiative called by South Sudan's President Salva Kiir Mayardit that was proposed to Khartoum by Kiir's adviser for security affairs Tut Gatluak.

Speaking to reporters in Khartoum Friday, Gatluak said the concerned parties have expressed primary agreement with Mayardit's initiative.

"I have met with many parties. I have listened to them and they have listened to us. They have agreed on mediation of president Salva and presented their views regarding the solution," he said.

He stressed South Sudan's sincere willingness to achieve stability in Sudan through a peaceful settlement, saying "Sudan's security concerns us. We do not want to see any instability in Sudan."

Gatluak further announced that Mayardit would visit Khartoum during the coming week to hold talks with the leaders of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), the opposition Freedom and Change Alliance and other political parties.

Meanwhile, Secretary-General of Sudan's Nusrat Al-Sharia Movement Mohamed Ali El Jizouli described South Sudanese president's initiative as more realistic.

"This initiative is closer to the reality because the South Sudanese understand more about the Sudanese scene and its complications," El Jizouli told Xinhua Friday.

"South Sudan's initiative began in a right way through contacting all the political forces, unlike the other initiatives which confined the current crisis to the TMC and the Freedom and Change Alliance," he noted.

Jizouli expressed optimism over a positive breakthrough in the Sudanese crisis, saying "the matter is on its way to be resolved as some factions of the Freedom and Change Alliance have now started to realize the seriousness of the situation."

"We have contacted some factions of the Alliance and we will reach a satisfactory solution soon," he added.

Additionally, with regard to the internal initiatives, the National Rank Unity Initiative, a group bringing together national figures and independent activists, has launched a series of meetings with the parties to the Sudanese crisis to narrow the viewpoints and provide proposals.

Member of the group Mahjoub Erwa said in a statement Friday that the Initiative focuses on narrowing the viewpoints among the different political components in the country to avoid foreign intervention in Sudan's affairs.

"There are over 20 initiatives on the Sudanese arena that need to be unified and revised so that they would all agree on one goal which is the stability and development of Sudan, without exclusion to any individual, except those who have ruined the political life for 30 years," he noted.

Furthermore, the Ethiopian mediator Mahmud Dirir is expected to arrive in Khartoum on Saturday to revive an initiative proposed by the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on June 7 to resolve the Sudanese crisis.

The opposition Freedom and Change Alliance, which is leading the protests in Sudan, rejects the TMC's call for talks on the transitional period, especially after the dispersing of the sit-in in front of the army's general headquarters on June 3, which left dozens killed and hundreds injured.

The alliance set conditions to return to negotiations including that the TMC must admit responsibility of dispersing the sit-in, formation of an international investigation committee, release of political detainees, lifting the internet ban and others.
