PRAGUE, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Czech lower house, the Chamber of Deputies, will open a special session to take a no-confidence vote on the government of Andrej Babis next Wednesday, the Chamber of Deputies said in a statement here Friday.

The petition was signed by 66 MPs from five opposition parities, namely, the Civic Democrats (ODS), Pirates, Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL), TOP 09 and Mayors and Independents (STAN), in reaction to the European Commission's (EC) draft audit report concerning Prime Minister Babis' conflict of interest.

The EC report, which was released by local media recently, said Babis faced a conflict of interest due to the EU subsidies paid to Agrofert, which he transferred to trust funds in February 2017 to meet the amended conflict of interest law, but is still influencing as the trust funds' main beneficiary. Moreover, as the PM, he can influence the distribution of EU subsidies, said the report.

The initiators of the no-confidence vote claimed that all MPs should express their clear stance on support for Babis.

However, the minority coalition government of Babis' ANO and the Social Democrats (CSSD) might survive the no-confidence vote according to the balance of forces in the Chamber of Deputies, said local media.

The opposition needs 101 votes in the 200-seat lower house to topple Babis' minority government.
