PHNOM PENH, June 22 (Xinhua) -- A seven-storey under-construction building collapsed early Saturday in southwestern Cambodia's Preah Sihanouk province, and casualties were feared, the National Police said.

"The incident happened at about 5:00 a.m. local time in commune 4 in Sihanoukville," the National Police said on its website.

"Some people, mostly construction workers, were trapped under the rubbles, and casualties are unknown yet, as rescuers are removing the wreckage to search for the victims," it said.

Provincial Governor Yun Min said at least three people were found dead and almost 10 others were injured, as rescue is going on.

He said two excavators are being used to remove rubbles in order to search for those trapped.

According to local authorities, the building was constructed on the parcel of 15 meters by 30 meters, and about 80 percent of the construction was completed.
