LONDON, June 27 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister Theresa May on Thursday said she would not promise unconditional support for the next prime minister over the Brexit plan.

Asked if she would back whichever Brexit outcome her successor scores, May said that would equate to agreeing to whatever happens in future.

The comments came as Jeremy Hunt and Boris Johnson are vying for the Tory leadership. Both of them have said they would try to renegotiate a Brexit deal with the European Union.

May told British journalists on her flight to the G20 summit in Japan that it is important that the country delivers a Brexit that is good for its people.

"It will be up to my successor to take this forward... to find the majority in Parliament that I was not able to find and to deliver the decision of the British people in 2016," she said.
