Taliban shadow district chief among 10 killed in N. Afghanistan

MAIMANA, Afghanistan, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have conducted operations in Andkhoi district of the northern Faryab province, killing 10 militants including a shadow district chief, said a statement of army released here Wednesday.

The shadow district chief for Andkhoi district Mullah Raz Mohammad and nine others have been killed in the operations launched Tuesday, the statement said, adding that the operations would continue to clear the district from the rest of militants.

Taliban outfit has not commented on the report.
