NEW DELHI, July 5 (Xinhua) -- India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reached the parliament on Friday to present the general budget 2019-20, officials said.

"The budget will be presented at 11:00 a.m. (local time) today," a finance ministry official said. It will also be Sitharaman's maiden Budget.

This will be the first budget of the Narendra Modi government in the second tenure.

The federal budget -- the annual financial statement of a government -- gives details about the revenue and expenditure, besides providing estimates about spending for the coming year.
