VALLETTA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- 44 migrants which include four women and three children were disembarked in Malta on Tuesday afternoon.

The migrants were rescued in the Maltese search and rescue region by NGO vessel Alan Kurdi operated by German NGO Sea-Eye on Monday night.

They were transferred to an Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) vessel on early Tuesday afternoon which brought them to Malta.

This is the second time in a few days that the Alan Kurdi carried out a rescue and transferred the migrants to the Armed Forces of Malta. A total of 65 asylum seekers were transferred to the AFM from the NGO vessel last Sunday.
