VIENTIANE, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The Lao stock market closed on Wednesday with a decrease of 3.35 percent compared to the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 26.52 points, reaching 765.51 points after closing.
A total of 93,400 shares worth about 356.180 million Lao kip (nearly 41,039 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.
There are 10 companies listed at the Lao stock market.
Six of them saw no trade on Wednesday, including Lao World Public Company (LWPC), Lao Agrotech Public Company (LAT), Vientiane Center Lao Public company (VCL), Mahathuen Leasing Public Company (MHTL), Lao Cement Public Company (LCC), and Phousy Construction and Development Public Company (PCD).
Shares of Lao commercial bank Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL) stayed unchanged at 5,900 lao kip (over 67 U.S. cents) after trading.
Shares of Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PTL) stayed unchanged at 500 Lao kip (over five U.S. cents).
Shares of Souvanny Home Center Public Company (SVN) stayed unchanged at 2,100 Lao kip (over 24 U.S. cents).
Shares of State-run energy giant Electricite du Laos Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) fell by 4.88 percent to 3,700 Lao kip (over 42 U.S. cents).
