LUSAKA, July 11 (Xinhua) -- A Zambian airline on Thursday announced plans to introduce a new route to South Africa aimed at boosting trade and investment.
The new route is between the Zambian city of Ndola and South Africa's Johannesburg.
Proflight Zambia says the new route, which was expected to begin on Sept. 2, 2019, will link Zambia's Copperbelt Province with South Africa's main business center.
"We are excited to launch the new Ndola to Johannesburg route to give travelers another reliable connection. The route will be Proflight's third international destination, adding to Durban in South Africa and Lilongwe in Malawi," said Barbara Namwila, the airline's sales and marketing manager.
The new route will have three flights in a week, she added.
According to her, the new route adds additional convenience and provides a Zambian-based option on the route.
