TOKYO, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Wednesday, tracking losses on Wall Street overnight, as concerns reignited about the future course of the global economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 66.07 points, or 0.31 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 21,469.18.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 1.33 points, or 0.08 percent, to finish at 1,567.41.
Precision instrument, securities house, and information and communication-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
