TRIPOLI, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The brother of the suicide bomber who was responsible for a deadly attack at a 2017 concert in Manchester was extradited to Britain from Libya on Wednesday, a local source who requested anonymity said.

Hashem Abedi, brother of Salman Abedi who detonated a bomb at the end of a concert by U.S. pop singer Ariana Grande on May 22, 2017, was suspected of helping plan the suicide attack, the source said.

Britain has requested the extradition of Hashem for murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to cause the explosion.

Hashem was said to travel back to Libya in April 2017 together with Salman, a 22-year-old Briton born to Libyan parents, before the suicide attack took place.

In the 2017 Manchester concert attack, 22 people were killed and hundreds of others wounded when Salman blew himself up.
