KABUL, July 25 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were confirmed dead and 27 others injured as three blasts rocked Afghanistan's capital Kabul in the morning rush hour on Thursday, interior ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said.

According to Rahimi, the first blast targeted a mini-bus of mines ministry carrying its employees in Police District 16 at 8:10 a.m. local time, killing five people and injuring 12 others including women and children.

According to Rahimi, the attacker rammed its explosive-laden motorbike at the mini-bus killing himself and four others, besides injuring 12 more people, all civilians.

The second blast hit almost the same area in a span of a few minutes, causing no loss of life, the official said.

The third blast was a car bombing that struck Police District 9, killing three civilians and injuring 15 others.

The official blamed the "enemies of peace," a reference to the Taliban militants, for the triple blasts, but the armed outfit has yet to claim responsibility.
