KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, July 28 (Xinhua) -- At least six militants loyal to the Taliban group and four government troops were killed following a clash in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province on Sunday, army spokesman Abdul Khalil Khalili said.
The battle flared up after a group of Taliban insurgents attacked security posts in Qala-e-Zal district's Aqtapa area early on morning, triggering a gun battle which lasted for two hours, according to the official.
The official said the security forces have been chasing militants to ensure peace and security in the restive district.
The Taliban militants have not commented.
