Bangladeshi Internet users reach nearly 100 mln

DHAKA, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The total number of Bangladeshi Internet users reached nearly 100 million at the end of June 2019 with addition of about 5 million new users in the first 7 months of this year, the statistics of the country's telecom regulator showed Monday.

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) data showed that the number of subscribers in the country reached 96.199 million, which accounts for a little less than two-thirds of the country's population.

Of the total subscribers, the BTRC data showed that there were 90.409 million mobile internet and 5.734 million broadband Internet users in the country while the rest of the connections are through WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access).
