JAKARTA, July 29 (Xinhua) -- 22 Indonesian athletes will compete in the international dragon boat racing in China this week, an official said on Monday.
The athletes from Indonesia's Jambi province represent Indonesia in the tournament scheduled to be held from July 31 to August 1 in Guangxi of China, according to mayor of Jambi city Syarif Fasha.
"Athletes from Jambi will represent Indonesia in the international dragon boat racing in Guangxi, China," he said.
"I hope the athletes from this city will create the best achievement in the international sport event," Syarif added.
The mayor has previously pledged his commitment to fostering more athletes in the sport in the province, taking measures to boost their skill to compete in international sport events.
It is supported by the geographical condition of the province which has some big rivers and a lake, media reported.
