YANGON, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Nose wheel of domestic Golden Myanmar airliner was broken while landing at Yangon International Airport on Friday afternoon, an official from Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) told Xinhua.

The landing gear of Y5-506 ATR-72-600 series flight travelling from Mandalay to Yangon failed while landing at 04:37 p.m. local time, forcing the airport's runway to be closed for a few hours after the accident.

"No casualties caused by the accident and heavy downpour was blamed for it," said an airport police.

Over 70 passengers were on board when the accident took place.

The operations of airport's runway was resumed at 6:30 p.m. local time, according to an announcement of Yangon International Airport (YIA).
