JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least seven militants were killed after unmanned plane pounded Taliban hideouts in Shirzad district of the eastern Nangarhar province, provincial administration spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said Monday.
The air raids, according to the official, were conducted Sunday evening against Taliban hideouts in parts of the restive Shirzad district, killing seven militants and injuring several others.
No civilians and security personnels had been hurt during the sorties, said the official.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the relatively troubled Nangarhar province, have yet to make comment on the airstrikes.
