BANGKOK, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- The new Thai parliament building announced on Monday that it will raise security level with surveillance camera installation and riot police reinforcement at the first parliamentary session at the new complex in Kiak Kai area in Bangkok scheduled for Aug. 7.
The new building has been relocated from the old temporary venue at the TOT headquarter (government building and office) at Chaengwattana Road.
CCTV cameras will be installed at the entrance of the building to record the registration plates of all vehicles, entering the premises.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's CCTV cameras surrounding the complex will be checked to ensure they are fully functional.
House Speaker Chuan Leekpai also checked the readiness of the meeting hall and the control room.
The security measures at the new parliament House came to light after a spate of bombs blew off at several government buildings late last week in Bangkok, triggering a hunt on the perpetrators.
