ACCRA, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Normalization Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday rescheduled its forthcoming extra-ordinary congress from August 19 to September 5.

The NC, in a release, said the decision will allow it to fully comply with relevant provisions of the statutes of the GFA without ambiguity.

According to the interim body, the rescheduling clears any ambiguity over the interpretation of relevant provisions of the GFA statutes by stakeholders, regarding the number of days required for extra-ordinary congress as well as its the agenda as earlier communicated.

"We are looking forward to welcoming our stakeholders for what is anticipated to be a very successful Congress towards the forward march of Ghana football," the NC said.

Football activities have been put on hold in Ghana for more than one year.

It followed a documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas that exposed bribery and corruption in the administration of football in the West African country.

The revelations resulted in the government dissolving the GFA and stopping all football-related activities across Ghana.

The NC has stated unequivocally that it is determined to wrap-up its program within the stipulated mandate as spelled out by FIFA.
