ZAGREB, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- A Cessna 150 plane with engine trouble landed on a highway in Croatia on Saturday morning without causing casualties.
The accident happened at around 10 am on A6 Zagreb-Rijeka highway, near Ravna Gora in west Croatia.
According to local daily 24sata, there were two passengers in the airplane, a flight instructor and a young student. The owner of the flight school in Lucko, who was in contact with the pilot, told the daily that the plane's engine had failed in the air, and then it hovered for several minutes until the pilot decided to land on the highway.
A video clip of the landing captured from a car on the highway shows the plane landing in front of the car, then slightly sliding to the side of the road before stopping in the right emergency lane. Small damage is visible on the front part of the plane and the right-wing.
Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and the plane should be soon removed from the road. Traffic on A6 highway was slowed down due to the accident.
