MADRID, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Serbian striker Luka Jovic has so far struggled to impress after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt over the summer in a deal worth around 60 million euros (about 66 million US dollars).

Injury curtained Jovic's pre-season preparations and on Saturday he played just nine minutes in Real Madrid's 3-1 win away to Celta Vigo, where the fact Gareth Bale started, when many expected the Welshman to leave the club, hinted Jovic is further down the pecking order than he may have expected.

However, in an interview published in Serbia, Jovic said he was confident he would be a success at the club and ruled out leaving on loan before the transfer window closes on September 2.

"Stories like that (loan) make me laugh - the media always come up with things like that," he said, adding he had "got used to rumors since the start of my career. I know there will always be rumors and time will tell if they are true."

Jovic said he had the confidence of Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.

"He believes in me and his opinion hasn't changed during the time we have been working together. I am learning every day and I am very happy, because he is one of the best in the world," commented the striker.

Finally the 21-year-old striker said he was "ready to give everything that I can. I didn't expect to play every minute at the start of the season, but I will reach my aims through hard work and dedication."

Real Madrid's next game sees them entertain Valladolid on Saturday evening.
