RIGA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Food safety inspectors have shut down a chain of kebab shops named Pakistanas Kebabs (Pakistani Kebab) here in the Latvian capital over poor hygiene, the Latvian Food and Venterinary Service informed on Wednesday.
The food authority's spokeswoman Ilze Meistere said the operations of two companies running the kebab chain - DSBS and J Investment - have been suspended over administrative violations, specifically, breaches of hygiene requirements at the kebab joints.
She also noted that the inspection at J Investment revealed possible irregularities concerning labor contracts and use of the state language. These violations will be reported to the State Labor Inspectorate and the State Language Center, Meistare said.
DSBS, established in 2011, belongs to two Indian nationals - Sai Naga Deepika Malla and Kushlow Immadisetty.
J Investment, established in 2019, is owned by Indian national Pratapkumar Boghabhai Solanki.
